I was one of those "poor kids" with a summer birthday, but I LOVED it! I loved not having to go to school on my birthday.. I loved being able to have a pool party or a picnic at a park or Elm Creek! I loved being able to have my party ON my birthday (even if it was in the middle of the week) and not wait until the weekend.. because all my friends were home, too! That being said, I went and had my daughter in December. What was *I* thinking?!? I suppose there's always half-birthdays...

Good post, Shannon, and good luck with the party planning!

I am familiar with that game. When my daughter turned 3 I had to send an e-mail to all the family members telling them by no means to great her as her name, b/c she would most certainly be pretending to be someone else and it would set her into a tailspin if (gasp) they called her her actual name!

Oh, I'm with you on the Spring cold thing--NOT FAIR! We should only get sick when it's miserable outside.

I hope you all are feeling better!

Sorry you guys were sick! We got a late Spring cold too. I think Spring colds sting worse than the winter ones, b/c you aren't expecting them, but I should be by now, we get one every year. My daughter was coughing every 15 seconds, and the little guy got croup. Ugh.

I love this idea! I've never heard of this before...but I'll definitely be passing it along to friends. We chose not to find out the gender with both of our kids because we love the waiting and wondering and dreaming--but this is a great way to work some suspense into things too!

Thanks for the idea, Stacy!
